This website publishes the research activities and outputs of J B Seatrobe, which focus on two main areas: Somerset history and political history.  Here you will find

• published articles on Somerset history, featuring notable events, people and places;
• published articles on political history, featuring our unique series of TWAMPS (which stands for They Were Also MPs).  These are people who are famous in many different fields, from science to culture, industry to military etc, who also happened to be an MP at some point in their career.  It’s a diverse group including Newton, Chaucer, Drake, HM Stanley, Dick Whittington – and Bobby Shafto!

All these talks and articles are designed to be of interest to readers of all backgrounds, but also to be as accurate and informative as possible, with different perspectives on existing stories. In fact, as our slogan states, we aim to provide ‘New twists on history’!
